Sue Visits Marrakech and Essaouira

22 JUL 2014

Our travel consultant Sue is travelling around Moroccan right now with her sister Marion and posting to our Facebook page. So far they have been to Marrakech and Essaouira leaving some wonderful photos to make me jealous, and giving some great travel tips. I know that she is working hard to keep our portfolio of accommodation fresh, but it does look a little like a holiday from some of the photos.

Entry Into Morocco from Spain

16 JUL 2014

Travelling overland and entering Morocco by sea from Spain is an interesting route, which currently is popular with many customers. Whilst the border is formally open between the two countries, the countries have a long history as close neighbours and occasionally the border can be closed for a short time with minimal notice.

Morocco Holiday – A Step out of the West

7 JUL 2014

So close yet so different, the idea of a holiday in Morocco may be a little daunting for many but Morocco is a wonderful country with a warm welcome.

Ideas for Holidays in Morocco in August

30 JUN 2014

In August, as in July, the most temperate destinations in Morocco are on the Atlantic coast and there's a number of excellent options offering culture and/ or natural beauty. I'll also add into this the southern medina town of Taroudant, which is relatively temperate and has a number of cultural options available. Away from the coast many places are will be relatively very hot, so choose carefully, pools are a great asset, and recognise that the sun is very hot, and leave the desert adventure to later in the year.

Marrakech or Fez – Where’s Best For My Holiday?

27 JUN 2014

There's a great range of places to visit in Morocco, each with similar fundamentals yet very different characters, and where is best for a holiday depends on what you are looking for - that's where we come in to help you create the right holiday for you.

Sue's Trip to Morocco

26 JUN 2014

Sue, one of our Moroccan experts, and Marion, her sister are heading off to Morocco in mid July. They will be visiting Marrakech, Essaouira, the South Atlantic Coast and Tarodant catching up with old friends and checking out new places. You can follow their trip on Facebook.

Language Barriers in Morocco for Tourists

23 JUN 2014

Many holiday makers to Morocco are concerned about possible language issues, but don’t be concerned – a little muddling by is part of the adventure. Where English is not understood, a smile, a few polite gestures and perhaps a little basic French is likely to be all that you need.

UK Passport Delays & Moroccan Tourist Arrivals

20 JUN 2014

It is reported that there can be long delays in getting passport renewals in the UK so do plan in advance for your holiday in Morocco. Remember that your passport need only be valid for the duration of your stay (although some airlines may require 3 month validity beyond the period of your intended stay and always best to check this beforehand so you don't get caught out). For UK citizens and many nationals, no visa is needed for your holiday.

Holiday Flight Delay Compensation

17 JUN 2014

Whether flying to Morocco or elsewhere for your holiday, flights do occasionally get delayed. European Commission regulations provide for compansation for passengers on flights delayed by more than 3 hours. Recently the UK's Court of Appeal held that airplane techical faults were entirely ordinary and were not a valid reason for an airline to dismiss a claim for compensation. However, claims for such delays may not be paid out until after a possible appeal to the Supreme Court (summer 2015), but this decision could have a significant effect on airlines.

A Driver For Your Moroccan Holiday

13 JUN 2014

Whilst self-driving on holiday in Morocco is a wonderful way to explore the country, a topic we have written about before, for many guests the option of having a driver allows them to relax even more during their journey. Moroccan drivers are no better or worse than in most of the world, and luckily they normally drive fairly slowly, but as always you must talk to your driver if things are not to your liking.
