Deep Desert

Naturally Morocco offers camel trekking with high quality Saharan desert camps giving you a taste of traditional life and cuisine in the dunes. Note that, unlike many other camps, you?ll enjoy comfortable mattresses, good sanitation, hot water and excellent food, which should combine to make an unforgettable visit to the spectacular dunes.

Most trips involve a ride by camel to the camp where you?ll sleep in nomads' tents, while others must be by 4x4 due to the vast distance from a paved road. Longer treks may be arranged on request.

Location Options

We offer camel treks beginning from the edge of the Sahara:

• Merzouga - ideal for those wishing to combine the Sahara with Marrakech or Fez, and you?ll see the most accessible large dunes (150 m high) in the Moroccan Sahara.
• M'Hamid - ideal for those wanting to make their desert trip part of the Taroudant/ Atlantic Coast circuit to the west. Less frequented by tourists and have the highest (and some of the most remote) dunes in Morocco (300 m high), at Chagaga.
