Typical Programmes

1 Day - Departure around 9 am to a small oasis where you will have lunch, and return to the kasbah after watching sunset in the sand dunes.

1 Day and 1 Night Starts with a camel trek which is normally of about 2 hours in length, but the length and route may vary with weather and dune form. The trek leaves the kasbah in the afternoon in order to arrive at the camp by sunset where a tasty traditional dinner is prepared on a campfire under the night sky. Sleep in your own tents with nice bed linen (doubles or triple) sharing toilet facilities. Return to kasbah for shower after breakfast. NOTE: It is not possible to reach this site by vehicle.

For the more adventurous, camel treks of up to seven days' length may be arranged.

What's Included

Included are tuition, public liability insurance, meals (lunch on day treks) and on longer treks drinks, camping equipment except sleeping bags and traditional musical entertainment.

Planning Your Trip

When planning your trip to the Saharan dunes please bear in mind:

• We strongly advise it be part of a trip of at least a week?s duration (ideally 10 days or more for those wishing to visit areas outside the desert too) as the Sahara is about 9 hours by road from Fez and Marrakech.
• Ideally visit between late Sept to early May to avoid the heat.
• For further advice please ask our staff who know Morocco, the staff & the treks well. Please contact us.

ERG CHEBBI CAMEL TREKS (1 Night)

1. Depart Merzouga for a 2 hour camel trek
2. Arrive camp at sunset
3. Traditional dinner prepared on a campfire
4. Early start to see the sunrise and breakfast
5. Return to kasbah by camel for shower
