It is an ideal point from which to visit the region to the south including various rock formations, archaelogical sites including rock engravings and the sand dunes of Tanzida with some spectacular scenery.
Climate
The Anti Atlas Mountains enjoys a relatively equable climate on the Atlantic fringe, but as you pass inland towards Ouarzazate and further south the climate becomes more extreme. Altitudes and latitudes are lower than the High Atlas so it is the warmest mountainous region in winter. The best time to visit the inland parts of the region is between September and May, but be aware that nights are cold in midwinter.
Icht has a semi-arid climate. It hardly rains here. The average annual temperature for Icht is 24° degrees and there is about 90 mm of rain in a year. It is dry for 298 days a year with an average humidity of 58% .
Location
Icht is a small town located in the Draa-Tafilalet region of southeastern Morocco. situated near to the town Fam El Hisn, conveniently located on the edge of the desert between Tata to the east and Tafraoute in the heart of the Anti Atlas Mountains to the north and Mirleft on the Atlantic Coast.It overlooks the Jbel Bani, the nearby escarpment which often reflects beautiful orange sunsets.
