Tata
It lies 3.5 hours’ scenic drive south of Taroudant at the foot of the huge escarpment, Jbel Bani, and is surrounded by 900,000 palms, making it the largest oasis between the Atlantic and Zagora.
Tissint
A superb natural rocky desert area with beautiful scenery. Well worth the drive to its remote location. It is possible to drive via a scenic route north to Igherm and thence either north east to Talaouine or west to Taroudant and Agadir.
Climate
The Anti Atlas Mountains enjoys a relatively equable climate on the Atlantic fringe, but as you pass inland towards Ouarzazate and further south the climate becomes more extreme. Altitudes and latitudes are lower than the High Atlas so it is the warmest mountainous region in winter. The best time to visit the inland parts of the region is between September and May, but be aware that nights are cold in midwinter.
The province of Tata is a predominantly rural subdivision of the Moroccan region of Guelmim-Es Smara. It takes its name from its chief town, Tata.
The city is located within an oasis 289km southeast of Agadir and about 815km from Laayoune. It is surrounded by Assa, Taroudant, Tiznit, Guelmim and Ouarzazate.
