We strive to make every holiday go smoothly and for all our guests to have an excellent holiday whilst in Morocco and take great pride in receiving positive feedback from our guests after their holiday. Jane was kind enough to write a full testimonial of her trip in February with her family, including an 18 month old infant, which included 3 nights in Marrakech at Les Borjs de la Kasbah, followed by 3 nights in Chez Momo in Ouirgane in the High Atlas mountains.

Morocco is a country overflowing with culture and life, a place to spend time exploring a medina and relaxing with a cup of mint tea watching the world go by. But Morocco also a number of good historical attractions to visit. We cover in this article the Ben Youssef Madrasa and the Museum of Marrakech, two interesting sites in just to the north of the main souk of Marrakech medina.

Budget airlines now dominate the passage from the UK to Morocco, with fast journey times, normally at low cost and with various routes available into the heart of Morocco. However, the overland route (via Paris and Madrid) is still possible with good regular ferry options across the Strait of Gibraltar – it is a cross-continent adventure that requires time and planning and may cost a significant amount, but can offer a vastly different holiday experience.

Essaouria with good road links to Marrakech (and its international airport), great selection of accommodation, interesting medina and protected beach offers a varied holiday; or Oualidia with its beautiful lagoon a haven for wildlife, harder to get to and with less choice of accommodation, is more suited to the special and relaxing escape away from the tourist crowds. What is best for you depends on what you want and we are here to explore the options further with you.

There is general consensus that man-made carbon release is linked to climate change, and that that is an important issue for the world. Naturally Morocco offers all guests the choice of purchasing carbon offset on their flights to Morocco, which we purchase through Climatecare.

The High Atlas mountains offer a huge range of trekking (or gentle walking) options, from half day walks to multiple days up the highest peak in North Africa, all in stunning surroundings a short drive from Marrakech. Naturally Morocco offers qualified, experienced and English speaking guides in various areas - we helped the travel writer Josh Steinitz with a trek from Imlil earlier this year, and his write-up is included in this article.

May, as for all of Spring and Autumn, is a classic time for a Morocco holiday, the whole of Morocco is pleasantly hot yet the peak summer heat is a while away. The Imperial cities of the north are in their prime, the Atlantic coastal towns are very pleasant and even the desert in the south is relatively temperate. School holiday season will affect flight and accommodation prices and availability so plan ahead.

Morocco is relatively very safe, but be sensible on your holiday there as you would in most countries. No country is 100% safe, but Morocco only warrants the normal precautions when on holiday - it is a country to be enjoyed and explored not to be fearful of, as our significant experience indicates that unwarranted events are rare in the extreme.
