It is a rambling site with a significant number of mosaics, olive presses and ruined buildings and is a fascinating day trip from either Meknes or Fez. Vollubilis is a partially excavated Roman ruin stretching over a 42 hectare site around a one hour drive north of Meknes. Designated a World heritage Site in 1997.

Moroccan Argan Oil This truly magical 'Liquid Gold' as it’s known, is unique to Morocco and is still produced using traditional methods. Many of the ‘Argan Cooperatives’ found in various cities, towns and smaller villages in Morocco supply oil for culinary purposes but is also becoming increasingly popular cosmetically (in its unroasted form) for the hair, to treat a variety of skin diseases, as a natural moisturiser but also to combat wrinkles!

Sahara Desert Dunes Adventure I know we recommend trips to the Sahara desert on a regular basis, but for good reason. This is just one of the fascinating and beautiful regions of Morocco and a really exciting adventure. Not just for the intrepid travellers, but suitable for all travellers who are looking for a memorable holiday somewhere hot and exotic. It is also an insightful experience for families travelling with their children and a wonderful opportunity to explore one of nature’s great wonders. A highly recommended trip for those who are looking for something different when searching for their next holiday destination.

Winter retreats If you fancy escaping the winter weather and contemplating heading for warmer climates, the south of Morocco is just the place. For many of us, tolerating many months of low temperatures, rain and howling wind is just too much and we crave some warmth and sunshine. Whilst most of Morocco has a reasonably good climate and can be pleasantly warm, the south is a much better option for a little additional warmth.

A Day On Holiday in Rabat Rabat is a great city for a shorter break or as part of a longer holiday day in Morocco. It is a city with a lovely range of things to see and places to wander and is a great peaceful destination that I cannot rate highly enough for a day or two. But everyone is different, what you and I want from a holiday in Morocco will not be the same, so below this intro I write a little about a typical day for me in Rabat on my most recent trip. Have a read of this then give our team a call to discuss what you want from a holiday. Fly into and out of Rabat international airport, or take the train on to Marrakech to the south or north to Fez and Meknes.

Moroccan Lamb Tajine Friends of mine have just come back from Morocco, a fairly short holiday but they managed to go to a favourite restaurant of mine and have a Mechoui – a highly spiced roasted lamb (either whole or leg), slow cooked until the meat is soft and falls off the bone. They loved it, luckily, as it was my recommendation and my favourite dish.
