Cheap flights to Morocco and well-priced accommodation should combine to give an excellent value holiday, but it’s not always the case.

Budget airlines have opened up the Moroccan holiday market and are often excellent value, but they are also clever and prices are not always cheap. Obviously this is the case in holiday periods and we can hardly blame them for charging what they believe we are willing to pay, so if you can avoid school holiday times for your Moroccan trip you are off to a good start.

There’s also the issue of the timing of buying your flight. After many years of experience I believe it best to buy budget airline flights as far as possible in advance for best value, but please do not hold me to that opinion if you find examples to break that rule.

Cheap Accommodation in Morocco

Naturally Morocco specialises in riad, Kasbah and other boutique accommodation, accommodation which gives you a true flavour of the country whilst you are staying there. Boutique accommodation is not cheap in Morocco but it can be excellent value and offers do exist.

Again the peak school holiday periods are the times to avoid if you are after best value. Most riads (and in fact all other accommodation) have a peak period rate that can be significantly higher than their normal rate.

However, occasional special offers do appear such as one we have just received for Dar Zemora. Dar Zemora is a beautifully restored home in the Palmery region just outside of the Medina of Marrakech. It has a heated swimming pool, beautiful gardens and offers a luxurious and special break, all the better for a 25% discount on room rates (minimum 2 night stay) over this Christmas and New Year period.

Away from the peak periods “normal rates” apply, but our suppliers often pass through extra special offers that make those rates even more attractive.
