Domaine Malika is the latest addition to our accommodation portfolio, which we have introduced in 2014. It is located in the Ouirgane valley just outside of the hamlet of Marigha near Ouirgane village.

Ouirgane is a great destination in its own right but also can be linked with a second destination to give a varied experience in a week's holiday - perhaps Marrakech, Essaouira or Taroudant.

What Makes Domaine Malika So Special

It is a peaceful and stylish luxury guest house in an exceptional setting and, although we are always cautious about Trip Advisor, it was included in Trip Advisor’s 'Travellers Choice' top 10 Hotels in Africa in 2013.

It only has 7 bedrooms in total (including 1 spacious suite), some capable of sleeping 3 people, all presented in a clean and modern décor, and the outside area is exceptional – with a pretty garden, spacious pool and pine trees.

Malika also has a traditional hammam on-site and offers various treatments, ensuring your stay is wholly relaxing and one to remember. For those guests interested in Moroccan cuisine, Malika also offers an interesting half day cookery class.

Ouirgane is a small Berber village in a large valley in the beautiful High Atlas mountains, just one hour south from Marrakech. The peace and beauty of the area is accentuated by the pine trees and olive groves on the slopes and valley bottom.

What To Do From Ouirgane

Ouirgane is a small Berber village in the High Atlas and is noted as a base for treks in the High Atlas of various difficulty.  Ouirgane has a souk (market) on Thursdays when Berber families from the region come down by donkey for their weekly trade and socialising.

Equally Ouirgane is a place to relax and enjoy the mountain air – a place of peace and natural beauty. Also, being just an hour's drive from Marrakech, it is relatively easy to arrange a day trip to the historic medina.

Note - Although we recommend organising treks before your holiday, to ensure a qualified and English speaking guide, treks, mountain biking and horse-riding may be possible to be arranged through the hotel, and picnic lunches can be requested.

Other Local Accommodation Options

Chez Momo is little, friendly rural inn in a commanding position with wonderful views. It is a delightful place to relax and enjoy Berber hospitality, with a bar, restaurant serving traditional Moroccan cuisine, swimming pool and pretty gardens with wonderful views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

L'Oliveraie de Margha is well-known restaurant with rooms scattered amongst the pretty gardens and olive groves. It has 3 swimming pools, 2 pétanque courses in the grounds and it offers baby sitting.
