Atlantic Coast near Agadir and the Souss Estuary

This flexible itinerary explores the area near the Souss Estuary, about 7kms south of Agadir; this area offers beaches, dunes, the estuary on the edge of the National Park (renowned for bird watching) with options to ride camels or Arab horses and visit a craft village. Option to visit the main resort for children’s amusements, the marina, the port and the Kasbah viewpoint.

Options: Clients can select from the following visits and activities.

• Ride Arab horses or camels in nearby dunes for one or two hours
• Visit Polizzi?s craft village (also known as the ?Medina d?Agadir), an excellent place to observe a wide variety of skilled craftsman at work and, if you wish, to buy their wares; it is housed in beautiful traditional buildings set amongst lovely grounds
• Visit the beaches of the Atlantic coast in and around Agadir, including the marina
• Visit the port of Agadir to see the fish landed (272 species!)
• Visit the viewpoint at the Kasbah in Agadir, the site of the old city destroyed by an earthquake in 1960
• If the group includes birdwatchers, the trip will take in an extended tour of the Souss Estuary, an area rich in bird life including Sandwichand Gull-billed Terns plus numerous Greater Flamingos and Spoonbills, Oystercatchers, Ringed Plovers, GreyPlovers, Dunlins, Curlews, Spotted and Common Redshanks, Greenshanks and various gulls.

Normal timing: 9am - 5pm.

What's not included: Cost of horse and camel rides (under £10 per hour) and entrance fee to Polizzi?s Medina (about £3 per person) are not included.
