Accommodation: Options to stay in either suites with views of the dunes or standard en suite rooms arranged around two pretty, plant-filled, courtyards and a large pool. A variety of room types to fit most guest needs; double, twin, triple or the quadruple family Berber suite (double and 2 twins).

Location: Superbly located, right alongside the Merzouga sand dunes, the most accessible large sand dunes in the country.  Merzouga is on the south east edge of Morocco, almost due east from Marrakech, accessible by picturesque routes from either Fez (7 hrs) or Skoura/Ouarzazate (5.5 hrs).

Services and other points to note: Excursions to the dunes by camel or 4x4, with an overnight stay in traditional tents in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Trek with camels and departure around 4pm for the trek into the desert camp. As well as trips to the sand dunes, you could visit the Marmar marble works near Erfoud, where a superb black fossiliferous rock is polished and sold. Bird-watchers will enjoy this area, especially the birds at Dayat Merzouga, a temporary lake often present in the winter.

Meals: Breakfast & an evening meal is included.  Good quality Moroccan dishes for lunches or picnics are available on request at reasonable prices.

Staff: Responsibly managed and run by a charming and extremely friendly Moroccan family, one of whom, Moha, has a degree in English.
