Accommodation: There are 3 rooms, 3 suites and 3 luxury suites, all with an individual character but the same level of comfort. Queen size beds with comfortable therapeutic mattress; soft 100% cotton sheets; bathtub, shower, bidet & double wash basins; fluffy towels plus a steady supply of solar hot water; complimentary tea & coffee making facilities; mini-bar stocked with a selection of soft drinks; flat screen TV with satellite channels & DVD player; powerful, quality hair dryer; beach towels. Essaouira deluxe room and Zagora and Ouarzazate suites can accommodate 2 extra single beds or one extra double. The latter is the only room situated on the ground floor. Free cot for children under 3 years.
Location: Regular buses to Agadir take 10 to 15 minutes. Local surf spots easily accessed by bus or taxi and there are a couple of beginner/intermediate breaks within 10 minutes’ walk. Tamraght, a modern Berber village, is known for its abundance of fresh fish, calamari & shrimp, banana plantations and native argan harvests. 2kms to the south lies the village of Aourir, the gateway to the Honey Route. Cascades of Immouzer & Paradise Valley, which are fabulous areas to explore on a day trip. Wednesday is the best time to experience Aourir as it comes to life with the weekly souk (open air market). Taghazout, 5kms to the north, can be easily reached on foot via the 5km stretch of sandy beachfront. It has winding alleys and pebbled shore front with mismatched houses built on top of each other and the beached wooden fishing boats add to the charms of this little surf town, popular since the hippy era.
Services and other points to note: The central courtyard has a good-sized pool, and there is an open fire next to the dining area, which is a great place to relax in the evenings. There is a spacious roof terrace with ocean views, indoor/outdoor cinema. The owners make you feel relaxed and at home and offer a range of independently-run activities including surfing, camel rides, hire cars, excursions and the onsite hammam offers a lovely wide variety of treatments.
Meals: Substantial breakfasts, delicious evening meals offering a range of Moroccan and European-style food at very reasonable prices. Evening meals need to be booked in advance.
Staff: Renee, Hicham and Younes are helpful and friendly, with a wealth of local knowledge.
