When to Go
Morocco has a very varied climate offering snow capped peaks visible from scorching desert dunes. Thanks to its mountains, the influence of the Atlantic and its size, the climate is perfect somewhere at all times of year.
Temperatures
For warmth between October until April, a good option is Taroudant,
the warmest town in Morocco at those times. Essaouira is the perfect
place at any time of year, as the temperature varies so little. Marrakech
& Fez have a more extreme climate, being further inland, so air
conditioning & heating are advised for midwinter & midsummer.
The deep south, Ouarzazate & beyond, where the huge Saharan dunes
are found, is best in spring and autumn and definitely too hot in midsummer.
On the table below, please note that these figures hide the contrast between day & night which is considerable. Even in the depths of winter the sun tends to produce very pleasant warmth, similar to UK in August during the middle of the day. If you'd like more detailed information please contact us. Rain tends to be heavy and shortlasting rather than drizzle.
Rainfall
One can virtually a guarantee no rain in May-Sept in the lowlands &
when it does rain, people are so overjoyed to see it, that it is fun!
