Getting to Morocco

Travelling Responsibly

getting to morocco © Martin Harvey (http://www.wildimagesonline.com)Although it is possible to travel to Morocco overland, the majority of our clients choose to fly. In order to compensate for the damaging effect of aircraft on the atmosphere we make donations to Climate Care who run tree planting and other schemes to "carbon neutralise" your flights. We also encourage our clients to donate at the time of booking. If you are intending to travel overland from Spain we can provide detailed instructions about ferries, trains etc.

Flight Options

There is a good choice of flights available to Morocco. In order to obtain the best prices, timings and routes we advise you talk with us to work out the best itinerary. For example, flying into one airport and out of another can be a great deal more convenient and may cost no more - sometimes less, and there can be savings on internal travel.

Day of travel. Although there are flights on most days of the week, the preferred start day for many options is Sunday - there is also usually a wider choice of flights. Check these schedules for an indication of flights currently available from the UK (March 2006).

Connecting flights from Scottish and some regional airports are also available.

Prices

getting to morocco taroudant To obtain best prices, we advise booking at least 3 months in advance - especially if you want to travel at peak times. By booking early, it is sometimes possible to buy seats for as little as £80 plus taxes, but later on these prices can rise steeply. Gatwick flights usually offer best prices and are all nonstop.

When is it cheapest to travel?

As a general guide flight prices tend to follow similar patterns to those shown in the table below.
Items hi-lited in light green tend to be inexpensive and also times when the weather is good – even in the winter, daytime temperatures are very pleasant in the south, though be prepared for cold nights.

Items hi-lited in lilac are peak times - dates may vary from year to year.

Note that booking well in advance will ensure excellent discounts even for peak periods.
