The Hotel Nord Pinus is a superb luxury riad. Set by the medina wall close to the city centre, and in a commanding position with views overlooking the Atlantic, this small luxurious hotel with restaurant offers excellent service and high quality accommodation

Accommodation:  There are four beautifully furnished suites, one double room and a Kasbah house. The suites are; Vengo which overlooks a courtyard has a small salon, a large bathroom decorated with red, green and black zellig tiles from wall to ceiling; Ocean View, probably the nicest suite due to the outstanding views across the Atlantic to the Spanish coastline and its small terrace it is ornately furnished with an wrought-iron bed, rugs and art-deco lamps and as an unusual feature, a leather door; suites La Chambre de l'Espagnol and Le Chameau s'en Fout have views over the Medina Walls to the Atlantic and are both comfortable and have an assortment of ornate furnishings of both Moroccan and Southern European origin. The one double room, Nilaya has a four poster bed. All beds have  the finest cotton bed linen and the rooms are equipped with free wifi, flat screen tv  air-conditioning, DVD player. Bathrooms have bathrobes, hairdryers and L'Occitane toiletries,and rooms have safety boxes.

Location:   Within the medina on the Rue Riad Sultan with views from its upper floors of Tarifa, the Spanish coast, the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean sea, this hotel is close to the historic city centre, the Grand Socco and local markets.

Services and other points to note:  Unusually over its six floors there is a lot of communal space. Inside. these are furnished with Italian and French designer objects and furniture and North African handicrafts, Outside terraces have oungers which ensures plenty of individual space to relax, enjoy the sunshine or just watch the marine activity in the Atlantic. There is a library of  DVDs.

Meals: A generous breakfast is included.  The restaurant is open to the public. Meals are served inside in a superbly furnished Grand Marocain salon or in less formal surroundings in a rooftop conservatory that has superb views over the port area and the Straights of Gibraltar or the terrace. Cuisine on offer is unforgettable Moroccan including: tagines on a wood fire, grilled fish and vegetables, candied lemons, and delicious soups. There is also a bar serving drinks and wine and room service is also available
