Villa Laylah is located in the terraced gardens of Les Jardins de la Lagune, an exclusive private complex of whitewashed traditionally styled Moroccan houses situated just 100m from safe sandy beaches which fringe the lagoon. The villa has been built and decorated in a traditional Moroccan style. The riad-style private courtyard garden, equipped with barbecue, the shady patio and upstairs terrace all provide a perfect space for outdoor living. Furniture has been made by local craftsmen, traditional Moroccan rugs are found throughout and good quality furnishings and linen are provided. The two bedrooms and salon area sleep up to 6 people. There are 3 swimming pools, a restaurant and poolside bar, ideal for families and couples alike.

Accommodation: This beautiful villa has two bedrooms: a spacious master bedroom upstairs with king sized bed and a ground floor double bedroom with two single beds. The master bedroom leads onto a large, private terrace. Both bathrooms have shower.  The large open plan sitting/dining room has two Moroccan sofas which can also be used as single sofa beds. In the sitting room, there is a television with satellite and a DVD player. This room opens directly onto the private patio which has traditional tiled table and chairs for outdoor dining. Fully equipped kitchen. Private courtyard garden with barbecue. No air-conditioning

Location:  Les Jardins de la Lagunewith its spectacular views of the lagoon and beaches is reached by turning off the main road between El Jadida and Safi onto the coast road at the northern end of the village of Oualidia. Villa Laylah is located just 100m from the sandy beaches of the lagoon while the beachfront restaurants (including excellent seafood restaurants) and surf school are a 5 minutes stroll. The village with its shops, fruit and vegetable markets, Saturday souk, restaurants, hammam and cafes are a 10 minute walk.

Services and other points to note:  Villa Laylah is rented as one unit for a minimum of 2 nights, with a discount for stays of 7 nights. There is a cot and highchair at the house.  Kitchen for self-catering with hob, oven and washing machine.  Water, electricity, heating and linen are included in the price but you should bring your own beach towels. There is a BBQ and lots of outdoor seating and dining facilities. The villa is maintained to a high standard.  Cleaning is provided before and after departure, and additional cleaning can be arranged locally for a modest price

The 3 swimming pools at the complex are fantastic (the infinity pool has views over the lagoon) and the poolside restaurant/bar (open all day) serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. Food such as tagines, barbecued crab, oysters, or pizzas can also be ordered to take away. The lagoon, where up to 140 bird species are recorded, is a bird watcher’s paradise, especially in spring and autumn.

Staff:  Manageress, Sylvie, is French and has limited English.  However, previous English guests report no communication problems.  She is efficient and cheerful, and can help you enjoy your stay, including options such as a hammam in the village, surf school, a boat trip across the lagoon or to the oyster beds with lunch of oysters, sea urchins and grilled fish at one of the best seafood restaurants in Oualidia.  Sylvie lives in Les Jardins de la lagune and is available from 8am to 10pm every day.
