Owned by an enthusiastic English-speaking couple who are experienced guides, Ryad Bahia is a charming riad featuring a delightful spacious patio/reception area with books, TV and colourful furnishings, an excellent restaurant and terraces with exceptional views. Genuine family heirlooms add originality and fascination. The rooms are simply furnished and colourful.

Accommodation: 3 rooms and 4 suites, which may accommodate extra beds, all with air conditioning and heating. Additional en suite rooms available in the next-door riad under the same ownership.

Location: Well sign posted in the bustling heart of the medina, conveniently positioned for the Place el-Hadim, the large square, and for souks and Dar Jamai museum. Fez is just 30 minutes away by train. Volubilis, a Roman settlement constructed on what was probably a Carthaginian city, dating from 3rd century BC is a "must see" and just 45 minutes away. Meknes, a prior capital of Morocco, has superb medina just a short stroll away, and is a pleasant place to explore.

Services and other points to note: The riad is often fully booked well in advance of the peak season.

Meals: Breakfast is included. The excellent restaurant serves meals at lunch and dinner time, including a wide range of vegetarian dishes. No alcohol is for sale in the riad, but you are free to bring your own.
