This peaceful guest house, a former palace, is sited within the walls of the stunning Imperial City and thus ideally located to explore Meknes and the surrounding sights.  Notable features includes a swimming pool on the roof terrace, offering a superb view of the medina and the Royal Golf course and a well known restaurant. The spacious courtyard with a fountain is surrounded by 13 traditionally furnished rooms and suites, the 4 largest ones originally serving as the quarters for the 4 wives of the original owner.

Accommodation: 13 bedrooms organized around a large patio with fountain comprising 8 rooms and 5 suites, all en suite, house some unusual furnishings including old gramophones and old doors on display.

Location: Stunning situation right next to the Alaouite mausoleum.  Meknes, a prior capital of Morocco, has superb medina just a short stroll away, and is a pleasant place to explore.

Fez is just 50 minutes away by train.  The ruins of Volubilis, a Roman settlement constructed on what was probably a Carthaginian city, dating from 3rd century BC is just 45 minutes away. 

Services and other points to note: Didi, grandfather of the current owners and descendant of a sultan, had 4 wives and created this Palace with quarters for each of them

Meals: Breakfast is included. The on site restaurant has a good reputation.
