RIAD SAMSARA | MARRAKECH MEDINA

This very beautifully restored, traditional riad has an unusually attractive courtyard adorned with lovely tiles, woodwork, plasterwork, fountains and plants and 2 spacious adjoining salons. The 2 romantic suites and 1 bedroom are situated on the first floor and there is a lovely roof terrace with good views. Located in an authentic part of the medina, it is ethically-run by the charismatic Swiss owner who has adopted Morocco as her home (as well as adopting a number of animals and Moroccans!).

Riad Samsara - Jacaranda

Accommodation:  The beautifully rich colours and the fabulous fabrics combine to produce a stunning effect throughout. The 3 comfortable bedrooms all have heating and air conditioning and bath or shower room: Suite Jacaranda is a romantic room with a turquoise bathroom and a 160 cm wide 4-poster brass bed and sofa; Suite Hibiscus has a 180 cm double bed, a huge wardrobe and may take an extra bed; Room Olivia may be used as a twin, double or triple and has a green bathroom.

Location: Near Bab Tarzout in the north-west of the Medina, 20 minutes' walk from the main square of Jemaa el Fna. Easily accessible by car.

Services and other points to note: In the same ownership is the delightfully rustic mountain retreat, Kasbah Samra, near Imlil.  There are 2 spacious salons: a cosy, relaxing one one, decorated in deep reds with books and a fireplace, and a second with satellite TV, CD and internet access.

Meals: Breakfast is included. Moroccan food as an evening meal or lunch is available on request, and is prepared to a high standard by Milouda.

Staff: The enthusiastic owner, Jacqueline, and her staff will extend you a warm friendly welcome, and speak French and a little English.
