Well positioned in the north of the medina, convenient for the main square, Riad Fawakay is a 300 year old house which has been restored with great care and style by its English owners. Reasonably priced, this riad is ideal for families as comfort and safety have been the prime considerations in its restoration. It features a sunny patio and a plunge pool (with a removable patio roof), an open fire and heating units to keep you snug in the winter. This 3 bedroom riad may only be rented in its entirety.

Accommodation: There are 3 bedrooms in all; a double and a twin on the ground floor and a superbly appointed, colourful double master bedroom on the first floor. There is also a stunning first floor living/dining room.

Location: Well positioned in the Azbest district north of and about 15 minutes' walk from the main square, the Place Jemaa El Fna, the riad is close to the souks, the Ben Youssef Medersa (a very beautiful building) and the Marrakech Museum; it is accessed by a winding alley.

Services and other points to note: Ideal for families since safety has been made a priority: the plunge pool, which is 39” deep in centre, 12” deep seating on edges, can be covered for safety on request; on the roof terrace there are 41” high railings and babysitting is available.

Meals: Breakfast is included. The cook/housekeeper will prepare Moroccan lunch or dinner on request, but otherwise you may use the kitchen and make the place your home. Wines and beers are always available. Meals may be served under the pergola on the terrace, in the courtyard beside the pool, or in the gallery overlooking the pool.
