RIAD DAR TAH TAH | MARRAKECH MEDINA

A charming, well managed riad, ideal for visitors on a budget wanting easy access to the sights of the Medina. Comprising 5 attractively decorated bedrooms set around a covered courtyard making it cosy in winter, as does the well-appointed large living room with fire place. It has a small roof terrace with good views over the city and is suited well to families. Bedrooms are small except room 3.

Accommodation: The riad combines Moroccan and French architecture and sleeps up to 11 people in 5 rooms, all of which have air conditioning except the twin room and the naturally cool ground floor double, both of which have fans. The rooms are laid out as follows: on the first floor: Room 1, a small double with en suite shower and toilet room; Room 2 a small twin suitable for children with en suite shower room; the spacious Room 3 with 4 beds (2 may be joined to make a double) en suite with shower and small bath; on the roof terrace is Room 4, (for which a supplement is chargeable), a small room with en suite shower and shaded private terrace at a higher level than the communal terrace; and on the ground floor, Room 5 with a double bed and ensuite shower room.

Location: Accessed on foot through the souks and via the buzzing, magnetic main square of Jemaa el Fna, it is a few minutes way from a taxi when the square is closed to traffic. The house is very well placed to see the sights of Marrakech, it is only a few yards from the spice market and the silk weaving area of Rahba Kedima, just north of the main square.

Services and other points to note: Supplements may apply in peak periods (Easter, Xmas, New Year, half terms). Minimum length of stay is normally 3 nights although we will try to put you up here for single nights for convenience when you have flights arriving late or leaving early. Phone to call staff at the sister riad at any time.

Meals: Breakfast is included - served either on the roof terrace, on the balcony or in the courtyard. Dinner or lunch are available by arrangement. There are 2 excellent cooks, serving this riad and its sister riad.

Staff: Brahim, the manager, speaks very good English and is most attentive, supported by his staff and also often by the knowledgeable semi-resident  owner.
