A former Prince's riad in the Kasbah district of the Medina, Les Jardins de la Medina has a personable feel although it has 36 bedrooms. It provides peace and space for guests within the exceptional 200-year old gardens, visited by Monty Don on his 'Around the World in 80 Gardens', has a wide range of facilities including an infinity pool (heated in winter), a cookery school, a renowned restaurant, bar and a spa.

Accommodation: All 36 bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and individually decorated with a variety of sumptuous fabrics, colour combinations and furnishings, have air conditioning, DVD player, heating, phone, hairdryer, safe and minibar. Some have extras including fireplace or private terrace. There are 5 Standard rooms (16-19 square metres), 5 Premium rooms (18-22 square metres), 3 Suites (28-30 square metres); the remainder are Superior rooms. Some suites are suited to families with children since they can take 2 extra beds and a cot.

Location: Conveniently situated in the Kasbah district of the Medina close to the gate Bab Ksiba, the Palaces and the Saadien Tombs, with parking directly outside the hotel. Some 25 minutes on foot from the buzzing, magnetic main square of Jemaa el Fna.

Services and other points to note: There is an Internet area with video and a giant screen. There is also a gym, bar, spa and beauty centre offering a vast range of treatments including hammam and massage. Other services include: currency exchange, shop, laundry service, babysitting and free parking in a secure car park.
