Dar Limounn, very well placed to see the sights of Marrakech (roughly equidistant from the palaces, the main square and the Saadien Tombs), is a compact 4 bedroomed riad with pretty patio and 2 small roof terraces with lots of plants and good views. Dar Limoun is authentic without any pretensions and offers a good budget option for families with children old enough to handle the steep stairs.

Accommodation: There are 4 bedrooms in total. There is one bedroom on the ground floor with two beds. The two bedrooms on the first floor and the one on the second floor have double beds; one first floor room and the second floor room can take an extra bed. All rooms have showers and heating. Fair prices for single occupancy (a rarity in Marrakech). Stairs to roof terrace particularly steep.

Location: The house is ideally situated in the Zitoun El Qdim neighbourhood of the Medina, just a few minutes south of the buzzing, magnetic main square of Jemaa el Fna.

Services and other points to note: On the ground floor there is a salon with books, music and a fireplace.

Meals: Breakfast included. Evening meals or lunch to order (with suitable notice). Use of kitchen on request.

Staff: The staff are very helpful; the owner Nadia, previously the manageress of Hotel Scherazade, visits the riad for a part of every day. Toufek, the guardian, speaks French and English. Jamia, cook and housekeeper only speaks Arabic.
