DAR TASSA | OUIRGANE

Dar Tassa is a simple, friendly and cosy guest house located in the serene mountain setting of  National Park, just over an hour’s drive south of Marrakech in a hamlet accessed by a track. Built in a traditional Berber style with traditional materials, it enjoys with stunning views from the picture window in the lounge and from large roof terrace. The owners actively support eco tourism and local conservation projects.

Accommodation: The 7 suites and rooms are arranged around a spacious living/dining room with fountain and fabulous views of the mountains. The cosy bedrooms are decorated with warm colours and Berber furnishings and have heating and air conditioning. There are 3 suites with double beds (extra bed possible) with en suite bathrooms; 2 doubles with shared bathrooms and 2 twins/singles with shared bathrooms.

Location: Located 1300 meters above sea level Dar Tassa is in the Toubkal National Park, accessed by an unmade road 10 minutes’ drive off the main road. Only an hour south of Marrakech, it is within easy reach of some of Morocco's most scenic valleys and gorges. The spectacular Tiz n Test Pass is on the route from here to Taroudant.

Services and other points to note: The owners promote eco-tourism and assist in conservation of the National Park. Community projects include introducing water meters to the houses in the village, repairing all the old pipes, and the sponsoring of the planting of trees. Trekking, walking and horse-riding in the area. It is best to pre book qualified English speaking local trekking guides, who can also help you to spot the Barbary Sheep in the Takkerkhort Reserve. A swimming Pool is open for use a short drive away at La Bergerie.

Meals: Breakfast is included. Other meals where tasty traditional food is on offer and packed lunches are also available, with Vegetarians ,Vegans and special diets catered for.
