Tagine of Fish, potatoes and vegetablesRiad Laaroussa offers a cookery lesson free of charge (except for paying for the dinner you prepare) to guests staying at the riad. It takes the form of a day involving time with local people, starting in the market and ending with a meal after a pleasant afternoon preparing the meal in their huge kitchen. The only thing that must be paid for is the meal.

Usually guests meet Samira, Riad Laaroussa’s charming cook, at the riad at 11 am to go to the market. When back from the market they have some free time before starting cooking dinner in an informal and friendly atmosphere. Usually guests stay with Samira from 2 to 5 pm in the kitchen, which is easily big enough for a group of 6 sous chefs; do ask her if she can manage you all if your group is bigger. Later on you will be served dinner at the riad in order to sample the delights of your creation. The length is very flexible. As a testimony to her enthusiasm, Samira also runs a blog about her kitchen.
