Camel Trekking

Essaouira is an all year round location with lovely and varied scenery, just 2.5 hours west of Marrakech. Choose from a range of camel trekking options from Diabat, some three kilometres south of Essaouira Itineraries are available for half day, one day, or longer trips with 1 or more nights under canvas, to see varied and beautiful landscapes of the Atlantic coast, forest and High Atlas mountains with friendly and entertaining local guides who love their animals – and their clients!

Your camel trek, which lasts for around 3 hours, takes you past an estuary with lots of birdlife interest, the remains of a house once the temporary residence of famous rock star Jimi Hendrix and along the beach beside the Atlantic Ocean.

A longer trek of around 6.5 hours, passing through the dunes, along the beach, an estuary with lots of birdlife interest and coastlands south of Essaouira. It includes a picnic lunch, views of the 16th Century Portuguese fort and a house once the temporary residence of Jimi Hendrix.
