A beautifully restored, small guesthouse located in the medina very conveniently near the main square. Dar Mounir offers tasteful, uniquely decorate and well equipped rooms, and exceptional staff . The medina of Chefchaouen is a charming mountain town famous for its blue-washed buildings, steep cobbled streets, surrounded by the scenic Rif Mountains.

The roof terrace is perfect for relaxing and taking in sun and scenery with fabulous views in all directions and has a splendid Moroccan tent. Traditional Moroccan lunches or evening meals are available at the nearby Café Mounir on the square.

Accommodation: There are 18 uniquely decorated rooms on offer, all with attractive arched features, 3 with sitting areas and all including bathroom & shower. Every room has central heating and air conditioning, and are blissfully free of telephones and TVs. There are:

  • 3 double or twin deluxe rooms (can also accommodate an extra bed as a comfortable triple room)
  • 5 double or twin rooms (3 of which can also be a triple)
  • 3 standard double rooms
  • 1 suite

Location: Located 50m from the famous square "Outa El Hamam" of this charming town at 600 metres in Rif mountains, under 3 hrs from Tangier and about 3.5 hrs from Fez or Rabat. It is possible to park a car about 3 minutes walk away by the Hotel Parador.

Services and other points to note: The roof terrace is perfect for relaxing and taking in sun and scenery; it also has a splendid Moroccan tent, giving protection when needed. The region can be cold in winter due to its altitude and northerly latitude. Internet access at reception.

Meals: Breakfast is included in the cost but possible to be on a half board basis. Tasty, traditional Moroccan lunches or evening meals are available in conjunction with their chef at the nearby Café Mounir on the square; they may be served in the salon or on the terrace or, especially in winter, in the lower dining room which has a fireplace and is an ideal space for a group to meet.

Staff: Kais, who speaks excellent English, having studied it at university, and his staff are justifiably proud of their guest house and offer visitors a very warm welcome and any assistance they might require.
