Newsletter 2012

Welcome to the 2012 edition of Naturally Morocco’s Newsletter, which brings you an update on our tailor-made holidays.

Naturally Morocco continues to seek out the best offers from its extensive portfolio, and good value accommodation and trips are still available for the rest of 2012 and 2013.

With Ryanair withdrawing all of its flights to Morocco, flight capacity and availability can be a challenge in peak periods and last minute bargains are limited, so we advise strongly that you book well in advance. Flights are now available through to September 2013 (Easter 2013 flight prices are already increasing significantly).

We continue to be able to offer a number of special deals on accommodation in the High Atlas and Essaouira; two of our most popular destinations. Two examples are highlighted below, whilst the full list can be found on the special offers pages.

Marrakech MarathonFor those people looking for an interesting place to test their stamina, the annual Marrakech marathon and half marathon will take place on the 27th January 2013. The races are flat and fast in and around the city of Marrakech and the orange groves, palms and farmland of the Marrakech Palmeraie, all set against a backdrop of the snow-covered Atlas Mountains.

High Atlas Loop

Since it was featured in the Guardian’s 2012 list of 50 best driving holidays, this self-drive itinerary has been further improved to focus on the breath-taking scenery of the Atlas mountains. This is a driving tour for those that enjoy mountain roads as it includes both the Tiz-n-Test and Tizi-n-Tichka passes - the highest in Morocco and not for the faint-hearted. The loop also includes time in Marrakech, the Souss valley and Taroudant, Todra Gorge and Ait Benhaddou, a fortified town used as a backdrop in numerous films.  [more..]

FEATURED ITINERARY - A Kingdom of Kasbahs

From £450 per person for 7 nights (excl flights, based on 2 people sharing)

Kasbah Ellouze

Three hours and a world away from Marrakech are the famous kasbahs (feudal family castles) of the Southern High Atlas and the Skoura Oasis. The hundred or so kasbahs in this area date mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries, and provide an interesting insight into the lives of the powerful families that controlled the trade routes to and from the Sahara. Your journey takes you south from Marrakech over the spectacular Tiz-n-Tichka (High Atlas pass) with its views of dramatic mountain and desert landscapes to the Dades Valley on the northern edge of the Sahara. ATOL changes

The UK Government is currently rolling out the “Flight Plus” ATOL scheme, which affects what types of holidays are covered by an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence (ATOL), i.e. those holidays have a financial guarantee in the event of an ATOL holder’s failure.

Flight packages sold by Naturally Morocco continue to be covered by ATOL; however, most payments direct to flight companies are still not covered by ATOL [read more ].
