Morocco Holiday Testimonial - Jane's trip with an 18 month child

We strive to make every holiday go smoothly and for all our guests to have an excellent holiday whilst in Morocco.

We take great pride in receiving positive feedback from our guests after their holiday and publish snippets of testimonials on our website, but we give a full Testimonial for Jane's Holiday in Morocco with her family including an 1 month old infant.

They had just returned in February from 3 nights in Marrakech Medina at Les Borjs de la Kasbah, followed by 3 nights in Chez Momo in Ouirgane in the High Atlas mountains.

Jane's testimonial

"Sorry I'm so delayed in this reply, we've been a bit crazy since our return.  Anyhow, I wanted to make sure I did eventually reply, because Naturally Morocco and all of the providers (hotels, drivers, guides, etc.) were so fantastic.  5 stars, all the way!  To be honest, I was a little nervous about travelling somewhere a bit more... "interesting" with our 18 month old.  Though I'm a seasoned traveller, travelling with a little one is a whoooole other world, and I needed the emotional support of an agency to help make sure things would be as seamless as possible.  I'm so very glad I chose Naturally Morocco, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

The team ... were always quick to respond to my queries whilst I was choosing our bookings and itineraries.  It's nice working with a team who've not only been to the destination, but truly love the country and the culture.  After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, we finally booked.  The team was very communicative, even through the holiday (warning about airport delays, etc.).  They answered my MANY questions promptly and patiently.   I especially appreciated their "know before you go" guide, which gave good instructions and awareness to Moroccan culture, from dress to tipping.  We felt a lot more comfortable armed with this knowledge.

As for the itinerary and trip itself:  AMAZING.   Loved every minute, and would like to go back, though to different parts.  Such an amazingly varied country.  There's just so much to see!

Upon arrival to RAK, our driver picked us up promptly, with a sign, and even waited patiently for us to change money.  The car was extremely clean and new, though it was missing the requested baby seat.  The driver did apologise for this, and said he would make sure the next leg of transport had a carseat (which it did).

The riad in Marrakech (Le Borg de la Kashbah), was GORGEOUS.  We were immediately greeted by many lovely staff, offered tea and pastries, and our (very hyper) toddler was indulged as he sprinted around the courtyard.  One of the owners, Tom, was on hand to greet us.  The owners were there throughout the stay, conversing with the guests, making sure everything was pleasant.  A perfectly run place.  Top marks.  The rooms were luxurious (we had the standard room, and it was fantastic, can't imagine what the suite was like)!  The food and service at the restaurants were great.  We ate there every night whilst the baby was sleeping in our room (portable baby monitor!!!).  Highly recommended.

When we wanted to change a transport time, the in-Morocco contact was immediately helpful and sorted it out for us.

Our driver to and from the mountains, Omar, was another gem.  SUCH a lovely man, immaculate car, this time equipped with a size-appropriate, new, high quality carseat.   Omar was an extremely courteous driver (those mountain roads are a bit tough on the stomach), and chatted happily to us.  He even gave us a bottle of olive oil from his home vineyard when we left!  So sweet!

The Guest House in the mountains, Chez Momo, was also fantastic.  It's in a VERY remote little town, so not much to do there, but we filled our days with hiking, led by our fantastic guide Jawad.  Jawad was lovely, very thoughtful, intelligent, interesting.  He shared fascinating snippets of info about the mountains, ecology, sociology, and more.  He was extremely accommodating to our son (Moroccans LOVE babies), and even walked hand in had with him down the path.  The mule guide was also lovely.  A nice touch, stopping in the village for lunch.  We wish Jawad the best of luck with his new baby, when he arrives!

Back to Chez Momo... though it's a totally different feel than the riads in Marrakech, we loved it every bit as much.  A great value (full board, they only charged for bottled water and booze), as usual super accommodating and helpful.  Absolutely stunning place, carved into the mountainside. The gardens were amazing, and though we didn't get to use the pool, it looked fantastic.   The bungalows were rustic but well equipped.  Bathroom was cold but they provided loads of heaters.  We even had an open fire in our room at night.  So romantic.  Food was very good as well.

Anyhow, thank you so very much for helping us arrange our Moroccan experience.  Well done, all around.   Not a single complaint.

Thank you so much,
