Taroudant for Families

The “Real Morocco” experience for families provides an introduction to the genuine hospitality, culture and experience that is Morocco. The holiday programme seeks to offer something for everyone - introduce you and your children to new ways of living, a broad-minded Muslim culture and unusual sights, sounds, tastes and smells.

The programme is based in a safe location at La Maison Anglaise in the small traditional Berber town of Taroudant, with no health worries – it is a malaria free region, the water is safe and there are no compulsory vaccinations. We provide a homely atmosphere and welcome that is shared with a group of like-minded guests. Most meals are included if staying at La Maison Anglaise and there are reductions for children. We also offer options for those wanting a pool or a little more luxury.

Our Programme

A 5-7 day long programme runs throughout the year (subject to availability), starting on any day, providing many Henna Tattoofascinating activities suitable for all ages. It may include:

  • Riding in horse-drawn taxis (caleche) around the town to see the sites
  • A visit to the local souk to buy food or presents
  • Meeting herds of camels and goats climbing trees
  • Finding wild tortoises and riding donkeys at a local oasis
  • Enjoying a therapeutic “mud and scrub” in a hammam
  • Being adorned with natural henna tattoos
  • See how Moroccan style baking bread at the local wood oven in a Berber village
  • Some walking in the mountains
  • Visit an oasis, a trip to the Tiz n Test mountain pass

"Our two teenage girls got a lot from the trip. They didn't want 'entertaining' they wanted to sit and talk to the local people or to us about how this kind of journey dispelled so many of the myths and much of the disinformation they are fed about Africa, about Islam and about the less wealthy world" S. Forrest
