Family Holidays in Morocco

Camels & Kites

Morocco is a wonderful country for a family holiday. It is culturally fascinating, has lots of things to do, an exciting choice of locations with a great climate and is only a short flight away from the UK and Europe.

We can tailor your Moroccan family holiday for any month of the year, meeting a wide range of budgets, age ranges and interests, thanks to our experience, unique programmes and flexibility.

Inspire your family holiday with:

  • Genuine Moroccan hospitality - Moroccans love children
  • An exciting range of environments - desert, mountains, cities, coast and historic towns
  • Exciting activities including camel treks, whitewater rafting, surfing and short hill treks
  • Fascinating and beautiful countryside - exotic crops and unusual wildlife such as tree-climbing goats and wild tortoises
  • A unique (and educational) insight into Islamic and Berber ways of life.

Where to Go

Whilst there are many options throughout the country, we note below a selection of locations as examples of the family friendly trips. Trips, locations and durations, can be arranged to meet your individual requirements.

Essaouira Beach and Camel RidesEssaouira

A walled town on the Atlantic with a pretty fishing harbour and fortified ramparts to be explored. The huge sandy beach has a children's play area and several water sports on offer, and there is horse and camel riding available nearby - see Essaouira for Families.

An excellent place to go for a wide range of cultural activities in a family environment. Adorn yourself with henna tattoos, have a hammam, learn to cook, take a caleche ride, visit Berber villages -see Taroudant for Families.

Family in High AtlasHigh Atlas

Ouirgane - a Berber village in the High Atlas Mountains, which is a stunning place for short treks with mules and to see the local plants and animals.  A number of kasbah style auberges and guesthouses in the area have swimming pools - see Ouirgane for Families.

Marrakech CityMarrakech

The most convenient gateway into Morocco for many visitors, with a maze of covered markets, a huge range of 'Riad' accommodation choices, beautiful gardens, historic sights and a water park - see Marrakech for Families.

Chez Momo, Ouirgane

We also have a range of other Suggested Itineraries that can be adapted and modified to suit your family requirements.

Travel Times

Travel times between locations can be significant - see our journey times map to help plan an enjoyable holiday.

For example the journey between locations by taxi or MPV vary from a relatively straight, flat road from Marrakech to Essaouira (2.5 hours), to mountain routes through the High Atlas starting a short drive (1 hour) from Marrakech, to an exciting coastal mountain edge route from Taroudant to Essaouira (4 hours).
